Blackpowder

The lure of blackpowder has something to do with early America and the way our pioneering ancestors provided food and protected their families.  Flintlock rifles were an everyday part of life and thus were mostly utilitarian in nature with some outstanding examples survivng to today.  Modern reproductions of these early arms can be both expensive and works of art.  Modern gunsmiths specializing in muzzleloading arms are both artists and craftsman, they strive to produce rifles in the style (school) of the old masters while at times taking liberties to produce some beautiful rifles.

I started building my own rifles a few years ago and after completing to rifle "kits" I am now working on my first rifle from scratch.  A good friend with years of experience is helping me along the way.  His assistance has been invaluable...thanks Bill!
